Occasionally, you will experience various network issues or delays on the website. Sometimes, these issues can be fixed easily. For example, you could try refreshing the page, restarting your device, or resetting your router. In rare cases, it could be something on PropertyShark's end. Below is a list of the most common network issues and how to fix them.
Clearing Cookies & Cache on Your Browser
Generally speaking, the first thing to do when you encounter an error on any website (not just PropertyShark) is to reset the cache of your browser. The cache is a collection of files that are stored when you visit a website. Usually, these files improve loading speeds and ensure that you stay logged into the websites you're using. However, sometimes these files should be cleared out to ensure that your device fetches the most recent version of the website page you're trying to view. Think of it as easy and basic browser maintenance. The steps vary depending on your browser and device; the most common are listed below:
- Google Chrome on Computer
- Google Chrome on Android
- Google Chrome on iPhone and iPad
- Mozilla Firefox
- Safari on Mac
- Safari on iPad or iPhone
- Microsoft Edge
- Internet Explorer - please see below
Internet Explorer
If you're using Internet Explorer, you're most likely encountering erratic or unusual behavior with our website because PropertyShark no longer provides updates or compatibility checks directly for Internet Explorer. This is because Microsoft discontinued updating or maintaining Internet Explorer on January 12, 2016.
We understand that our users have become used to browsing the internet with Internet Explorer, and we're sure that you have preferences and websites that are saved there. However, we strongly recommend using a regularly updated web browser. Learn more from Microsoft.
500 Internal Server Error
An Internal Server Error happens within the web server attempting to show you an HTML page. In these cases, the server encounters an internal error or misconfiguration, causing it to be unable to complete your request. It's typically a server-side problem out of your control, but there are still some fixes you can try from your end.
502 Bad Gateway
The 502 Bad Gateway error usually indicates a networking error outside of your control, and most of the time it's temporary. Reloading the page will often solve the issue.
This Site Can't Be Reached
Sometimes, the browser is unable to load the website that you're trying to access and comes up with a This site can’t be reached error message. The fixes vary depending on your browser and device, so please check the instructions corresponding to your case below:
- Google Chrome on a Windows Computer
- Firefox on Windows Computer
